I’m delighted to welcome mike_j and athol_t as our first two Moderators for this section of the forums. Both are experiences professions at Dundonald Physiotherapy & Sports Injury Clinic.

Physiotherapy: mike_j is Mike Jones.

Mike has spent the last 18 years specialising in sports medicine. He has worked with a variety of individual sports people and teams at both local and international level and has travelled extensively in this capacity, including being part of the Commonwealth Games squad of 1998 and 2002.

At the clinic they have an experienced team of Chartered Physiotherapists with a combined 30 years experience. As well as their sports injury work they specialise in the treatment of neck and back pain, individual post-operative rehabilitation, Isokinetics and remedial sports massage. They are also currently club Physiotherapists to Glentoran F.C., Cooke R.F.C., Ballynahinch R.F.C. and C.I.Y.M.S. R.F.C.

Podiatry: athol_t is Athol Thompson

Athol is the Podiatrist at the clinic and originally from Cairns in Australia. He graduated from the University of Brisbane and spent several years working with the Australian Institute of Sport, in Super Twelve Rugby and the Australian International Triathlon Squads before coming to Northern Ireland to take up a Health Service post. He has specialised extensively in the management of running and cycling, although his sporting credentials cover a vast array of activities.

At the clinic he specialises in biomechanical analytic techniques using video/computer analysis, treadmill and customised bike fitting.
