Obviously I have went wrong somewhere but I changed the contact form send to address from the generic forms@dundonaldfc to admin@dundonaldfc but somewhere along the line it has gone pear shaped.

I have forwarding on the admin address to my own mail box and if I send a direct email to the admin address it forwards fine, its just the contact box does not work.

Had a quick look and couldn't see much wrong. One of the fields may have been still at forms@ ... changed that to admin@ in case it was that, but I've a feeling I accidentally reset that to forms@ myself when I clicked on it at first.

Try it again now and let me know if it's still not working.

Had another look and it all seems right. I'm thinking maybe your account is dropping the emails in your spam or junk mail folder - have a look there.

We need to establish if the problem is with the form, or with the forwarding to your hotmail account. At the minute it could be either, so lets narrow that down.

Do you have the ability to set up an email account in Outlook Express or Outlook? If so, set up that admin@dundonaldfc.co.uk account there, then delete the email forwarding to the hotmail account. Try the form then to see if the email is being sent ok.

If so, the problem has to be with forwarding. If not, the problem is in the form.

If you don't have Outlook/Express can you PM me the password for the admin@ email account? Then I'll delete the forwarding, set up admin@ on my Outlook, and test it that way.

Cant do the outlook business so I will PM you the password.

If I just send a straight email to the admin@ address it forwards it to the hotmail.com account, just using the form Im stumped.

ok - set that up in my Outlook and it's all working fine for me. As soon as I set it up I got about 6 test emails you have sent, including at least some from the form on the site.

Then sent a couple from my own email address, plus one submitted using the form on the site - all worked fine.

So, where does that leave us? The form is definately working ok, because I have 3 or 4 emails from it here. The admin@ email account is working ok.

When you sent directly to admin@ it forwarded to your hotmail ok, jjust not when it comes via the form mail.

Weird. That only leaves (as far as I can see) that hotmail doesn't like the formail when it's forwarded. In which case I'd have expected it to be in your hotmail junk folder.

Baffled myself now. I'll try setting up the forward to another hotmail account and see what happens.

... or that the forwarding service doesn't like the formmail. The test emails you sent were all stuck out there somewhere, so they left the site ok - just didn't get through the forwarder.

Has to be there somewhere.

I got the same problem as you when I set to forward the admin@ to a hotmail address. Didn't get there, then as soon as I delete the forwarder the email pops up in my Outlook.

So ...
the email form works
admin@ email account works
The forwarding works ... except when it's asked to forward an email sent using the form

Beats me I'm afraid. I'll send off an enquirey to the Control Panel company and see if they have any ideas. If you can get your mits on an Outlook Express it would solve it. You'd also then be able to SEND emails from admin@.... :)

So how do I get my mits on Outlook Express?

Should come as standard with Windows I think. It may not be enabled by default but you should be able to add it from your Control Panel.

Go to Start > Control Panel > Add/remove programs > down the left side see the icon for Add/Remove Windows Components > scoll down the list it gives you and tick the box for Outlook Express > Next.

That's in Windows XP. Not sure about other versions.

Right a little bit of sweet a little bit of sour.

I have setup outlook but the same thing is happening.

A direct email goes straight to the inbox but the form still does not work.

Im confused.
