Hi, I am a complete novice at HTML but have been able to use the sitebuilder to build a site for my club www.trojansfc.co.uk (http://www.trojansfc.co.uk). The problem I am having is with the form mailer box, I have set oone on the contact us page but dont know how to activate it or where the posts goto??

Can anyone help?

Tony

Don't have time for a full answer to this right now, but here's a few pointers:

1. The email address it sends to has to be one on your domain, e.g. contact@trojansfc.co.uk - it can't be your own email address (hotmail or whatever).

2. No problem there - you can set up contact@trojansfc.co.uk (for example) in your Direct Admin control panel, then set up that email account in Outlook/Outlook Express - or something like those. There are tutorials, including videos, at http://webhelp.visport.co.uk - look around, you'll find them. Video links at the top of the page.

3. Then you need to change the default email address in the Contact Form. That's the bit I can't completely remember off the top of my head. It IS a bit fiddly, but I managed it so it can be done :1 (50):. I think you need to goto the Contact page, then into 'Edit layout' (? ... second tab at the top anyway) > click on the form > then the email address is editable by clicking one of the icons on the menu bar at the top I think. Make the change (possibly to each field in the form, not sure), then Publish the site and try it.

4. There are some issues if you try to redirect that email from the trojansfc.co.uk address to say a hotmail address. Haven't found a way round that yet, but in any case it's much better to use Outlook or something and a 'proper' email address. That way you can send emails from trojanfc.co.uk too, which obviously looks a lot more professional.

I think there is a help topic about emails in here somewhere.

Also look at http://www.visport.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=285 - might be some help in there too.
