Having trouble with my emails

Not sure if its a hosting problem here or whether its to do with the domain itself but all of a sudden without changing anything on my computer, im getting the following error when I try and send or receive emails:

Socket Error: 10061, Port: 110, Protocol: POP.No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.

Anyone have any idea's?

Yep - it's the server. There was a firewall update a couple of days ago and it seems to have broken the emails. We know what it is now, and it should be sorted shortly.

Problem cleared now.

However - note that I'm not sure if any emails that were sent to you in the last couple of days are backed up somewhere and will now get through, or if they are gone forever.

If you have any way of checking if the email you're looking for was sent, you would be best to do that, and ask them to resend it if necessary.
