As some of you know I am trying to work out how to add a module so as I can add a visport banner. I have asked on the joomla forum and I now know how to add the module, but I have no idea how to write the html, is there anyone here that is good with html can help me with this part?

The topic on joomla can be found at

First - the logos. Made 2 that should fit in the panel you're talking about.

This one (http://www.visport.co.uk/VS/logos/visport-2006m-nost-bigwww-w.gif) for a white background like you have now.

This one (http://www.visport.co.uk/VS/logos/visport-2006m-nost-bigwww-t.gif) has a transparent background in case you go all artistic and plaster the backgroung in pink or something.

Other variations available if needed. If you do change to a coloured background I may need to tweak that second one so that it doesn't disappear into the background. That would never do. :1 (62):

Not sure about your question because I've never done it, but we'll get you an answer ok.

I'm pretty sure there's a gallery available for Joomla. :goog:

I'll sort you another Vi Sport banner too - the space is a bit smaller than I thought so that logo is a tad distorted to squeeze in.

Site is coming along really well now - colours sorted etc.

It's getting there, if you can get me a banner that is 155 x 67 that would be great. I will start to work on the gallery tonight

That didn't turn out quite right either?

That's because somehow the dimension set for the banner has changed to 156 x 60 now. I think you're trying to wind me up lol

The actual image is 155 x 67.

Not sure how you define the image size where it's positioned in that block but if you can set it to 155 x 67 that'll look fine.

Which banner do you mean? If you mean a Vi Sport banner I'll give you some to choose from. If you mean a DC Ladies banner you'll need to get someone who has done a little bit of graphics work with Photoshop or similar to make you one. If you just want to take or adapt a DC logo we can probably help you with that.

Something like this ...

Isn't too difficult to do if that's what you meant. Whoever did the original DC logo could do a better job I'm sure.

I was looking to get a banner that goes along the top of the site with the players blending into the background.

ok, then I'd say you need to find someone who has done some stuff with a graphics package - Photoshop, or even Paintshop Pro or similar. If you know someone like that it's not rocket science to do a banner like you suggest, but it can take a bit of time.

In time I'd guess we'll get a user on here who loves doing that stuff and may help with requests. However, we don't have one yet so how about asking around your team?

ok - think I found a volunteer to help you. User b3no will be along to ask what you want.

Hey, I'll gave a Go at creating a banner for you girls.

Would you happen to know the Dimensions of the Banner? would u want it in the same style u have at the moment (the weird shaped rectangle). i could extend it to the width of the site?

If you have MSN or EMAIL, give me a shout at b3no@hotmail.co.uk and i'll sort something out for you.

( I live for Photoshop )

Just tried it on the site, the width looks perfect but the height is too big, could do with a quarter of it if thats possible.

paul_r

I see that. b3no- I think the 130px height we were looking at includes the Vi Sport logo at the top. That's 28px so the main banner would need to be 767 x 100 or thereabouts.

Photoshop 5 is older than I'm used to but should be easily capable of doing the stuff you want. Just takes a bit of time to get to know how to do things. You can Google for Photoshop tutorial sites, or I'll bet b3no has some links. Not sure if these will be for Photoshop 5 though. It's up to version 8 now.

i hope this should work ^

Yeah you should easily be able todo banners with that, abit oldskool but will still have all the things you will need. you will need to get hang of the programs first though.. recommended websites:

http://www.good-tutorials.com/
http://www.pixel2life.com

Some/Most of the tutorials are advance but there should be a few there that could be used for starters to Photoshop.
